{"id":790,"date":"2020-10-14T17:39:01","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T14:39:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/kb\/?p=790"},"modified":"2023-03-14T14:12:28","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T12:12:28","slug":"how-to-create-an-email-forwarder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/kb\/how-to-create-an-email-forwarder\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Create an Email Forwarder"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><b>Email forwarding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been around for quite a while now, and because we&#8217;re so used to its existence, we tend to forget how useful it could be in some cases.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Imagine, for example, that you have a team of ten people, and you need to email identical messages to all ten of them on a daily basis. <\/span><b>Sending multiple identical emails<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to multiple personal inboxes every day isn&#8217;t really the best use of time and resources.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In theory, you <\/span><b>can create a group email account<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and give the employees access to it, but that would mean that every member of the team<\/span><b> would have another account and another set of login credentials <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to juggle around, which is hardly ideal, either.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your best bet in such a scenario is to <\/span><b>create a group account for the team<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and then set up forwarders so that every email you send to it is forwarded to the <\/span><b>team members&#8217; personal addresses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They won&#8217;t have a second inbox to check every day, and you won&#8217;t need to send dozens of emails.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, this is just one scenario in <\/span><b>which an email forwarder might be a good idea<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Most <\/span><b>hosting and <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/how-to-set-up-a-business-email-in-vps\/\"><b>email service providers<\/b><\/a><b> support forwarding<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but you need to know how to set it up.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Creating and managing email forwarders in SPanel<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you use one of <\/span><b>ScalaHosting&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/managed-cloud-hosting.html\">managed VPS<\/a> solutions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can set up email forwarders through your SPanel user account. You also have the option of piping emails to an application.
