This is your coupon identifier, so the code title must be unique, <strong>containing only letters and numbers<\/strong>. Coupon codes are case-insensitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The coupon <strong>Description<\/strong> is not displayed to your customers \u2014 you can use it for your own reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Coupon Data<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Use the <strong>Coupon Data<\/strong> box to configure the features and application of your coupon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note: <\/em><\/strong><em>Options in the three tabs of the<\/em><strong><em> Coupon Data<\/em><\/strong><em> box are the same across all available types of coupons.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>General tab<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full mpg-gallery\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Creating-Coupons-in-WooCommerce-3.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"135\" height=\"90\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Creating-Coupons-in-WooCommerce-3.png\" alt=\"Coupons, General tab\" class=\"wp-image-62659\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Discount Type<br><\/strong>This menu defines the kind of coupon you are creating.<ul><li><strong>Percentage Discount<\/strong> applies a fixed percentage discount to the subtotal of the entire cart.<br><strong><em>Example:<\/em><\/strong><em> Such coupon with <\/em><strong><em>Coupon Amount<\/em><\/strong><em> set to 10, applied to a cart with items amounting to $108, applies a $10.80 discount to the subtotal of the cart.<\/em><br><strong><em>Reminder: <\/em><\/strong><em>Subtotal is the combined price of the products in the cart, before taxes and shipping fees.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Fixed Cart Discount<\/strong> applies a pre-set amount to the subtotal of the entire cart. This is configured in your store\u2019s base currency.<br><strong><em>Example:<\/em><\/strong><em> Setting the <\/em><strong><em>Coupon Amount<\/em><\/strong><em> to 10 for this coupon type applies a flat $10 discount to the cart\u2019s subtotal.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Fixed Product Discount<\/strong> applies a fixed discount multiplied by the products in the cart.<br><strong><em>Example:<\/em><\/strong><em> This coupon type, with <\/em><strong><em>Coupon Amount <\/em><\/strong><em>set to 10 and applied to a cart containing 4 products, takes $40 off the subtotal price &#8211; $10 multiplied by the 4 products in the cart.<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Coupon amount<\/strong><br>Numerical values entered here change to percentages when creating a <strong>Percentage Discount<\/strong> coupon and to your WooCommerce store\u2019s base currency when creating the other two fixed-type coupons.<\/li><li><strong>Allow Free Shipping<\/strong><br>Enabling this checkbox requires <strong>Free Shipping<\/strong> to be enabled and a shipping zone for the location of the ordering customer. Otherwise, the coupon will be invalid to them.<\/li><li><strong>Coupon Expiry Date<\/strong><br>Use the date picker to specify when the coupon expires. The coupon will expire at 12:00 am on the specified date.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note 1:<\/em><\/strong><em> Make sure your timezone is properly set (Settings \u2192 General).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note 2:<\/em><\/strong><em> For targeting a specific date, for example, Christmas (Dec 25<sup>th<\/sup>), make sure to set it for the day after \u2013 Dec 26<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Usage Restriction Tab<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full mpg-gallery\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Creating-Coupons-in-WooCommerce-4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"127\" height=\"137\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Creating-Coupons-in-WooCommerce-4.png\" alt=\"Coupons, Usage Restriction Tab\" class=\"wp-image-62660\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Minimum Spend<\/strong> and <strong>Maximum Spend<br><\/strong>These options define the range of maximum and minimum subtotal of the cart for which the coupon is valid.<\/li><li><strong>Individual use only<\/strong><br>Enable if you don\u2019t<strong> <\/strong>want the coupon to be applied alongside other coupons.<\/li><li><strong>Exclude sale items<br><\/strong>Enable this option to restrict customers from applying the coupon to products on sale.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note:&nbsp; <\/em><\/strong><em>Enabling this for a Per-Cart coupon instead of Per-Product, makes it invalid if applied to a cart with multiple products on sale.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Products<\/strong> and <strong>Exclude Products<\/strong><br>Use the autocomplete fields to select products to which the coupon applies or does not apply.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note 1:<\/em><\/strong><em> When you set this for a Per-Cart coupon, it will become invalid if applied to a cart containing an excluded product.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note 2:<\/em><\/strong><em> Leaving these fields blank enables the coupon for all products.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Product Categories<\/strong> and <strong>Exclude Categories<\/strong><br>Clicking these loads a list of product categories. Pick categories you wish the coupon to exclusively apply to or be excluded from.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-green\"><strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong><em> When you set this for a Per-Cart coupon, it will become invalid if applied to a cart containing an excluded product.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Allowed Emails<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong>Enter a list of email addresses available for the coupon. These are verified against the customer\u2019s billing email address. Their default value gives <em>no restriction<\/em> for the coupon you are creating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Usage Limit per coupon<br><\/strong>The number of uses allowed for this coupon before it becomes void.<br>Default is unlimited.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-blue\"><strong><em>Tip: <\/em><\/strong><em>Advertise limited quantities of your coupon to provide a sense of urgency to your customers and boost sales.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Usage Limit to X items<\/strong><br>Visible only for<strong> fixed product discount<\/strong> coupons. Limits how many cart items the coupon can be applied to before becoming invalid. You can configure applicable products under <em>Usage Restriction<\/em>.<\/li><li><strong>Usage Limit per user<\/strong><br>Limits how many times an individual user can activate the coupon.
