Below are the types of content created across WooCommerce when creating or importing products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Product entries <\/li><li>Product images <\/li><li>Product categories <\/li><li>Product tags <\/li><li>Global and Custom product attributes <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In WordPress, posts and other content can be associated with a specific user that you can delete, removing everything under it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not the case with WooCommerce.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, products are not associated with the username they were published by, so related entries need to be removed by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-blue\"><strong><em>Tip: <\/em><\/strong><em>You can change the number of items you see on the <\/em><strong><em>Products<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em><strong><em>Categories<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em><strong><em>Attributes<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><em>or <\/em><strong><em>Tags <\/em><\/strong><em>screens. Click on <\/em><strong><em>Screen Options<\/em><\/strong><em> located at the top right corner of the screen and increase the value of <\/em><strong><em>Number of items per page,<\/em><\/strong><em> then click <\/em><strong><em>Apply.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Removing Product Entries<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Click on <strong>Products<\/strong> at the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Confirm the action by clicking <strong>Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. This action results in the following events:<br>&#8211; Notification stating that 18 products are moved to trash appears, including an <strong>Undo <\/strong>button. Click on the <strong>Trash(18)<\/strong> link to visit the Trash page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. To complete this exercise, press <strong>Empty Trash. <\/strong>This will display the number of trashed items and will empty the products list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>How the Trash Works<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When sending a product to the trash bin, the following happens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The item is hidden from the <strong>Products<\/strong> screen.<\/li><li>The item is displayed on the <strong>Trash <\/strong>screen.<\/li><li>The item remains hidden from the front end of your WooCommerce store.<\/li><li>It continues to occupy its SEO-friendly URL, also known as S<em>lug.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert-blue\"><strong><em>Example:<\/em><\/strong><em> You trash a product titled <\/em><strong><em>Velvet Pants<\/em><\/strong><em> with URL slug <\/em><strong><em>velvet-pants<\/em><\/strong><em>. The product is no longer part of your inventory. Creating a new product named <\/em><strong><em>Velvet Pants<\/em><\/strong><em> this time generates the slug <\/em><strong><em>velvet-pants-1<\/em><\/strong><em> as the product in the Trash still uses the other URL.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It continues to occupy the ID allocated upon creation.<\/li><li>By default, products in the Trash remain there indefinitely.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The same Trash mechanics apply to other post types such as <strong>Posts<\/strong> and <strong>Pages<\/strong>. Items used for categorization, such as <strong>Categories<\/strong><em>, <\/em><strong>Tags<\/strong>,and <strong>Product Attributes<\/strong> do not have a Trash and cannot be restored after deletion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Removing Product Categories and Tags<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Click on <strong>Products \u2192 Categories<\/strong>; <strong>Products \u2192 Tags <\/strong>for tag items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Clicking the <strong>Apply<\/strong> button deletes all custom entries and displays a confirmation text. Only <strong>products<\/strong>, <strong>posts<\/strong>, <strong>pages<\/strong>,and <strong>other post types <\/strong>support trashing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. If any list entries remain (besides <em>Uncategorized<\/em>), repeat steps 1\u20133.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Removing Product Attributes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Product attributes do not support bulk editing out of the box. This option is present only for the attribute values. On the <strong>Attributes<\/strong> screen, attribute values are referred to as <em>Terms.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you click <strong>Configure Terms<\/strong> for a specific attribute, the <strong>Bulk Actions<\/strong> menu and the row checkboxes become available again. Of course, we have you covered with a plugin for bulk editing product attributes in the chapter: <em>Essential <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scalahosting.com\/blog\/top-7-woocommerce-plugins-for-online-shop-owners\/\"><em>WooCommerce Plugins<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Removing Attribute Terms (Optional)<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Follow the steps in this section to see how you can remove <strong>attribute terms <\/strong>while preserving the <strong>product attribute.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Click on <strong>Product \u2192 Attributes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Click on <strong>Product \u2192 Attributes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Move the mouse over<strong> the desired row <\/strong>\u2014<em> the <\/em><strong><em>Edit <\/em><\/strong><em>and <\/em><strong><em>Delete <\/em><\/strong><em>links will appear.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Removing Product Images<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Click on <strong>Media <\/strong>in the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. By default, the <strong>Media Library<\/strong> screen displays items in a grid. Switch to <strong>List view <\/strong>to bring out the <strong>Bulk Actions <\/strong>menu and row checkboxes.
