That\u2019s why you have Sample Products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sample products are a great way to test your store and configure its functionalities before adding your actual inventory. They are also a quick way to preview the features of your website theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To run the WooCommerce Products Importer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Go to Tools <\/strong>\u2192 Import<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. Locate the WooCommerce products (CSV)<\/strong> at the bottom of the list with importers<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Click the Run Importer<\/strong> link below the title of the importer<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alternatively, you can do that by visiting the Products <\/strong>screen and clicking the purple Import <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Note:<\/em><\/strong> After adding products, the Products screen is changed to display the products, and the Import button will become available at the top of the screen.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, to begin importing products, you need a file with their data. Files with sample products are present within the WooCommerce plugin folder. If you have the plugin.zip file<\/strong> downloaded on your computer, just unzip it to a folder and navigate to the sample-data <\/em>folder located within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The file you need is sample_products.csv.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n In case you don\u2019t already have the archive \u2014 there is another route you can take:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 1. Follow this link to the sample-data<\/em> folder, located in the public WooCommerce code repository on GitHub: <\/strong>github.com\/woocommerce\/woocommerce\/tree\/master\/sample-data<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n 2. The web page is basically a file browser. You will see a list of 3 files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 3. Click on “sample_products.csv.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n 4. This will load another list, this time filled with values. Locate the Raw<\/strong> button right above the Description<\/strong> column.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 5. Click on the file and brace yourself<\/strong> \u2014 the file contents might just look like a comma-separated nightmare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But that\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 6. Save the file to your hard drive, best with Ctrl+S<\/em> for Windows and \u2318+S<\/em> for Mac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 7. Now, head back to the Import Products<\/strong> screen in the WordPress admin and upload the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 8. Once you have selected the sample_products.csv<\/strong> file from your computer, click the purple Continue<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 9. You\u2019re now at the Column Mapping<\/strong> screen. This assigns columns of data from your CSV file and maps them to their counterparts in your website database. It\u2019s an advanced tool that works automatically 98% of the time, so it\u2019s best that we just scroll through the page and click Run The Importer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 10.
